Medichem is concerned to promote the development of occupational health professionals. To this end, scholarships are offered to individuals to present scientific papers at Medichem's Congresses.

A maximum of three Scholarships may be awarded for each Congress.

Those who wish to be considered for the award of a Scholarship should notify the Scientific Committee of the Congress that they wish to apply when they submit the abstracts of their presentations. Scholarships are available to Medichem members and non-members alike.

The Scientific Committee of the Congress will rank the accepted abstracts according to their scientific value and notify the Chairman of Medichem. The Chairman, in consultation with the Board members, will award the scholarship(s) according to the following criteria:

• scientific value
• career development
• personal circumstances
• previous receipt of a Medichem Scholarship

Scholarships will be awarded, each up to a maximum of USD 2,000, and recipients will have the privileges of Medichem membership for the following year without payment of membership fees.

The Scholarships will be used to assist the recipient to pay for the cost of hotel accommodation and travel expenses to and from the Congress. The Congress registration fee will be waived for recipients.

Receipt of Medichem Scholarship will be acknowledged at the Congress and in the subsequent abstract publications. A list of recipients will be published in the Medichem Handbook.
